Jesus formed, consummated, and established a blood covenant with our Father when He died on the cross.
John 19:34(34) But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.
The water testified to, and the blood covenant promise established, the imminent impartation of the Word of God to replace our weak human spirits. The blood sealed the blood covenant forever with Jesus and Father God. We are participants through our relationship with them.
We believe, accept, and acknowledge Jesus as our Lord and Savior and God as our Father to enter a Kingdom relationship as His child and citizen.
The following is a quote from internet sources concerning Sir Henry Morton Stanley (1841–1904) and gives us some essential information on blood covenants. He was a Welsh journalist and explorer famous for his expeditions in Central Africa, most notably his successful search for the missing missionary David Livingstone
Henry Morton Stanley engaged in numerous blood covenants (or blood-brotherhood rites) with local African chiefs during his expeditions, particularly while exploring the Congo basin. These pacts were a crucial and widely recognized diplomatic and survival strategy, establishing trust, securing passage through unfamiliar territories, and guaranteeing mutual protection and support.
Purpose and Process
Security and Passage: Stanley often found his expeditions in vulnerable positions, facing hostility from local tribes who were wary of outsiders, particularly after experiences with slave traders. The blood covenant provided a formal, sacred agreement that allowed him and his party to travel safely.
Mutual Obligation: The core principle of the covenant was that the two parties essentially became "one," with shared assets and mutual enemies. As Stanley's interpreter explained, "After you become his covenant partner, everything that belongs to the chief will be yours if you need it," with the reciprocal understanding that Stanley's few belongings would also belong to the chief if needed.
The Ritual: The rite involved shedding blood, typically by making incisions on the wrists or arms, and sometimes mingling the blood in a shared drink. This physical mixing symbolized the inter-union of their nature and the formation of a sacred bond.
Exchange of Symbols/Gifts: A significant aspect of the ceremony involved the exchange of gifts or symbols of authority. In one notable instance, a chief demanded Stanley's valuable goat (kept for milk) and in return gave Stanley a seemingly impractical copper-wrapped spear. Stanley later discovered the immense practical value of the spear, as other tribes recognized it as a symbol of the chief's authority, and its possession meant Stanley was under the chief's powerful protection.
In His teachings, Jesus reveals a powerful concept of the use of repetition used to establish blood covenant of our souls.
1 Corinthians 11:25(25) After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
God wants us to remember His covenant, because it is our confidence in the strength and integrity of God’s covenant promises that gives us the confidence to go before Him asking what we may and He will give it to us. We must learn to use our faith. Thankful repetition strengthens and establishes our soul in Him and our relationship with Hi.
I previously taught in “The Wealth of Living in God’s Kingdom Today” about the benefits of living in God’s Kingdom.” Go to that teaching and start remembering and professing the promises of God to the Father, in Jesus’ name, and the Godhead will go to work establishing those promises in your life.
Continue professing diligently until God has solidly fulfilled every commitment in your life, and you consistently experience those promises each day. God’s blood covenant is priceless for believers. Always remember, you are a blood covenant partner with God through Jesus the Christ.
Father, today in the name of Jesus, I confess I believe in my heart that I am a child of God and live in the Kingdom of God. I request all provisions for housing, land, and food you have promised backed by blood covenant. I also further claim total health care and healing as part of that same covenant. I know that the entire Godhead is working to ensure my success, so I thank you with all my heart for these actions in my life. Amen.
Keep reminding God and thanking Him. If you do not see the results you expect, ask Him why.
