Romans 6:6 KJV (6) Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
Every born-again person had their old man of sin removed by God and placed on Jesus on the cross. So this verse speaks of the spirit of man, whom God caused to be crucified with Jesus.
Galatians 2:20 KJV (20) I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Because our bodies can not live without a spirit, God tells us we now have the spirit of Christ dwelling within us. He also gave us the faith of Christ for us to use. “Lord, teach and lead us to accept, use, and even excel in your faith.”
1 John 3:9 KJV (9) Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
This verse also speaks of our spirit, which is now one with God. The spirit of Christ cannot sin because He is God. However, our soul, which is our mind, will, and emotions, still have free will and can sin according to its own will. Our soul must go through the process of salvation and partner with the Holy Spirit in this task. He alone has the wisdom, knowledge, power, and authority to carry out this mission.
1 John 3:8 KJV (8) He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
Because we are the temple and home of God, I ask, “Is He at home in His house? Have we allowed Him to do the works God sent Him to do in His own temple?” He will destroy anything that attempts to destroy His temple, and Jesus will destroy the works of the devil in our souls. Son-light quickly destroys the works of darkness. First, you must allow God to expose the works; then, you ask Him to release His light, and He is responsible for the destruction. We must express constant faith in Christ to complete this process. The house of Christ will be the home of Christ when you finish the work. He changes the house into His home.
