Born Again

What does that mean?

As Jesus hung on the cross shortly before His death, God placed all sins upon Him, thoroughly eradicating all sin from the earth. He also removed our sin-contaminated human spirits and subjected them to crucifixion.

Romans 6:6 KJV

(6) Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

The Apostle Paul recounted his experience.

Galatians 2:20 KJV

(20) I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

When Jesus died, His Spirit, along with our spirits, were transported and confined to hell. During His ministry, Jesus became the Word of God and carried the Spirit of the Word of God as His own. We also know that in the book of Revelation, John identifies Jesus as the Word of God.

Ephesians 2:6 KJV

(6) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

Because we are alive, we know that God removed a portion of the Spirit of God from Jesus and placed it in us as our own. This gifting transpired on the day Jesus was crucified; otherwise, we could not have lived without a spirit.

Genesis 2:18 KJV

(18) And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

Genesis 2:21-23 KJV

(21) And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;

(22) And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

(23) And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

God had found a suitable helper for Adam. The woman was a brand-new creation that had never existed before. She is also a shadow of the reality of the new covenant.

God had searched throughout the earth to find a suitable helpmeet for Jesus. He did not find one righteous person. All had sinned and come short of God's glory. Therefore, He looked within Christ and found us in Christ, as He was placed on the throne next to God the Father.

Before awakening Jesus from the sleep of death, God took the Spirit from Him for every person on earth, creating a brand-new spiritual creation and forming a helpmeet for Jesus.

1 Corinthians 12:27 KJV

(27) Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

God had accomplished the impossible: He had created a spiritual partner for Jesus to represent Him on earth. This new creation carried the Spirit of the Word of God and His faith, authority, and power. Since God could not give us a new soul without changing who we were, we must now accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior and obey Him. These actions assure us of His partnership in renewing our minds, which results in our salvation.

We must follow Him in baptism, seeking the Kingdom of God first, and accepting our position in the Kingdom as His children and citizens.

Before ascending to Heaven, He gave us the keys to unlock the treasures of His kingdom. Learning to use these keys is imperative to secure everything for life and godliness and our growth to the full maturity of Christ.
