Genesis 2:7 KJV
(7) And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Genesis 3:14 KJV
(14) And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
Ø dust (as powdered or gray); hence clay, earth, mud: - ashes, dust, earth, ground, morter, powder, rubbish.
God had taken from the ground material needed to make the man’s body. It was decaying organic matter, which we could describe as garbage or rubbish.
Galatians 5:19-21 KJV(19) Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,(20) Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,(21) Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
Expressing the works or desires of our body attracts Satan to us because God had condemned him to eat of this all the days of his life. It is the only food He gets, so he goes about as a roaring lion seeking someone to devour. He is just seeking lunch.
Satan uses his influence to get you to yield to the desires of your flesh. So long as you provide him with food, he is attracted to you. When you starve him, he must go elsewhere to eat. You decide the outcome of your conflict with him. God has given you the power to follow the spirit, but you have the free will to follow the flesh. It is your decision, so be sure to make the right one. Don’t expect Satan to leave if you continually feed him.
Philippians 4:5-8 KJV(5) Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
(6) Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
(7) And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
(8) Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
This mindset will assure you of a life free from the influences of Satan.
