God's Sons Vs Servants

Throughout the Old Testament, God raised servants to do His will. These were mighty men of God and performed great exploits on God's behalf. However, things were about to change dramatically with the establishment of the New Testament and the crucifixion of man's old spirit of rebellion and sin. With the rebirth of the sons of God, they would carry the spirit of Christ as their spirit (Galatians 2:20). Jesus spoke of this change. He said up until this time, there had been no greater Prophet (servant) than John the Baptist, but the least person in the Kingdom of God was greater than John (Luke 7:28). Citizens in the Kingdom of God must be willing to be identified as children of God, spiritually joined with Him as His body, and accept being born again establishing them into the promises and revelations of the New Covenant.
God's purpose from the beginning with Adam was to form a kingdom composed of His family and Himself. He desired sons and daughters who would live in His household with Him twenty-four/seven. He has never lacked servants and treats them well, but the sons have specific advantages and favor with God. Consider the parable of the prodigal son. The father is looking for his son to return, not his servant.
The child of God is born to be a king and be capable of ruling Himself. Self-rule by willingly obeying the kingdom's laws and living under the covering of God the Father is the standard. Because God did not give it to us to have life within ourselves, it is under this relationship that He supplies the life we need through Christ Jesus.
