God’s Treasure

Jesus was born to be a king in the Kingdom of Heaven and establish His rule over the world.

John 18:37 KJV (37) Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.

God sent Jesus to preach one message: the Kingdom of God. He never varied from this mandate given by God, and He instructed all of His followers to do likewise.

Luke 4:43 KJV (43) And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent.

One of Jesus' descriptions of the Kingdom of God was that it was like a great treasure. He told us of this in a parable.

Matthew 13:44 KJV (44) Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.

Why do we not seek the kingdom for ourselves as Jesus told us, nor value it for its treasure in our lives should we find it? If you do not treasure the kingdom, you have not yet found it. Have we not yet learned to treasure what God treasures or are we still seeking to do our will?
