Godly Dominion

Luke 19:17 KJV (17) And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.

God calls us kings and priests. Although born into these positions, it takes spiritual growth and wisdom to walk in them. God has a training program custom designed for you. A passionate desire, steadfast faith, and unyielding perseverance will achieve these goals with God’s guidance and help.

God gives us the little to get us started learning to rule and reign as Him. In Genesis 1:16-28 God gives mankind dominion over the earth. After Adam lost his authority and rule to Satan, humanity had never seen nor experienced Godly rulership. Subsequently, God dispatched Jesus to the world to exercise and demonstrate dominion with the power God had initially given to Adam.

Matthew 11:28-30 KJV (28) Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (29) Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. (30) For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

The yoke is the burden of the authority and power of government to be formed within individual believers. God spoke of this government in Isaiah 9:6-7. In the parable of the prodigal son, the Father gives us power and authority upon our return. He will present us with His robe of righteousness and the ring of His authority, signifying the return of kingdom rule to us. Our job is to believe, receive and learn to walk in what God has already given us.

Our first assignment designed to prove our faithfulness and capability to rule is to learn to govern our bodies through our relationship with God. Our first promotion and next task would be leading in our marriage and family relationships. Our last advancement is ruling and reigning in our ministry relationships. The Kingdom of God is a functioning family built upon the relationship of love through union with God.

The king/priest combined in each person is used to establish kingdom government rule in every situation. We must work with the Holy Spirit to create this rule. Ruling as God is the power and authority of the government regulated, controlled, and directed by the agape love of God. We must be led by agape love until we consistently express His fruits of love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance throughout our lives.
