Importance of Changing our Minds

Luke 10:13-14 KJV (13) Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. (14) But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you.

This statement is a warning from Jesus to the people of these cities to change their thinking.

The Strong's Concordance meaning of repent:

G3340 From G3326 and G3539; to think differently or afterwards, that is, reconsider (morally to feel compunction): - repent.

It does not mean only to reconsider your sinful ways; primarily, it also means you are not thinking God's way, which is also sinful. Jesus, in His first public statement, said:

Matthew 4:17 KJV (17) From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Have you changed your way of thinking to agree with God? Is the message of Jesus also your message? Are you carrying the Kingdom of God to the people? It will come with the demonstration of God's power.

1 Corinthians 4:20 KJV (20) For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.

Preaching Jesus without the kingdom's presence does not have authority or power. However, the Kingdom of God comes with authority and power. Therefore, preaching the kingdom message lifts Jesus high; He is the kingdom's king.
