Kingdom Purpose According to Jesus

When a term was significant and needed emphasizing in the Bible, God repeated it. For example, Jesus repeatedly used the term Kingdom of God or Kingdom of Heaven in the four gospels. I counted seventy-nine times. Never once was it mentioned as a religion. When the Spirit referred to the kingdom in the Bible, He called it a government.

To put this in perspective, Jesus used the following terms in the gospels. Also listed are the number of times He mentioned them.

Deliverance 1 Healing 0 Born again 2 Salvation 2 Satan 12

Sin 12 Love 51 Faith 30

Followers of Jesus should emphasize what He emphasized, preach what He preached, and told them to preach. When the focus of God’s purpose is the Kingdom of God within us with its expression of the Kingdom of Heaven from us, the above list is elements needed for kingdom citizenship. Kingdom citizenship provides the purpose for each of them in the list. Each person entering the kingdom must use every provision according to their needs. The kingdom is the anchor that holds them all together. Focusing on anything except the kingdom distorts God’s purpose and diminishes them to a work of the flesh attempting to please Jesus. So, seek you first the Kingdom of God or, as I would put it, “Aim with total focus and passion for attaining the kingdom. Selecting any other target may give you an easy bullseye but will cause you to miss God.”
