My Dream

I had been struggling with my thought life and fleshly desires I had encountered several years earlier and thought I had conquered. I kept asking the Lord for help but had not received any. Then the Lord gave me a dream. In the dream, I was standing on the lawn of my home. The house was at the top of a small hill.
Weeds about knee-high covered the area around the house and were well-established. A narrow pathway led from the lawn to the adjoining piece of land.
Next, I noticed my dad on his tractor, plowing the field. He had started next to the outer fence and plowed around the house until finished. When I saw he had completed tilling the area, which was bare with no sign of weeds because the plow had turned them underneath the soil.
Almost at once, I was standing about halfway between the lawn and the neighboring field. When I began returning to the house, I saw snakes covering the area. Everyplace I started walking, there were snakes on the ground. I was getting quite alarmed by my situation, but I found myself safely back on the lawn and could see no further snakes.
I asked the Lord where they came from and where they had gone. He replied, "They were always there but remained by the weeds. When you walked the pathway across the field, they were just out of sight, giving you the illusion of safety. When they became exposed to the sunlight, they had to either leave to find shelter elsewhere or die from the sun's heat."
I asked Him, "What was that supposed to mean to me?" He replied, "I have been uncovering things that you had confronted years ago, and you thought you had dealt with them. However, I had never dealt with them. You had only covered them up. Therefore, I want you to ask me to shine the Son's light on them in His full brightness. Then, they will either be destroyed or leave forever to find shelter elsewhere, and you will be free at last."
I asked Him to come in all of His brightness and deal with my problems, and He did. Whom the Son sets free is free indeed. Praise God!
