Pathway of Jesus

God prepared a dirt suit to make it legal when Jesus was born on this earth. Then, after reaching the maturity ordained by His Father, He was baptized by John the Baptist in the Jordan river. As ascending from the river, the Holy Spirit came upon Him, and the Father announced aloud, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."

This announcement deeply rooted and grounded Jesus in God's love and being the son of God. This promotion by His Father enabled Him to complete His training and ministry. The Father's acknowledgment of Jesus as His Son released Him to work in His Father's business.

The trek through the desert prepared Jesus for His position as a priest unto God. He returned from the desert walking in the power of God from that day forward. The priest represents God to man and man to God.

On the Mount of Transfiguration, God again spoke aloud to the world, saying, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him." This announcement further rooted Jesus in His Father's love and assured Him that He had become who the Father desired Him to become. Isaiah announced that Jesus was to be called Emmanuel, God with us. In the beginning, Jesus had the Word of God within Him; now, He had become one with the Word of God in identity. He had also fulfilled His destiny to become king and priest unto God (2 Peter 1:16-17).

Jesus laid out this pathway for us to follow. Do you identify as a Son of God? Are you walking the path Jesus walked and following Him into the His maturity?

Isaiah 4:1 KJV

(1) And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach.

The prophet said there would be a day when people would not want to accept the righteousness given by Jesus, nor would they truly walk the path that He walked into maturity. Instead, they only want others to know them as followers without actually following in His footsteps.
