The Lamb's Marriage

Genesis 2:21-22 KJV

(21) And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;

(22) And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

To see and understand Jesus Christ's marriage to His Ekklesia (church), we must see marriage as God sees it. God first put Adam to sleep, removed his rib, and created the woman. As soon as God awakened Adam, he spoke about his wife and prophesied concerning the church.

It is also important to note an additional viewpoint of God on marriage.

Genesis 5:1-2 KJV

(1) This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;

(2) Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.

When God created the woman, He named each of these people Adam. From God's perspective, they were one person because they were created with the same spirit and from the same body. As we will see, He followed this concept again in the New Testament.

Romans 6:6 KJV

(6) Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

Just before the death of Jesus on the cross, God took man's old man (the spirit of man) and placed it and sin on the cross in Jesus. Both were crucified with Him. This action left man without a spirit for a very short time. But evidently, God sustained Him during this time so mankind would not die.

After Jesus' death, God immediately raised Him to sit beside Himself in heavenly places.

Ephesians 2:5-6 KJV

(5) Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

(6) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

It is crucial to see that we were seated in Christ, not beside Him. We were in Christ, who was sitting on God's throne beside Him.

God had been seeking a suitable helpmeet for His Son and had finally found the desired person. Performing the miracle of the ages, He took a portion of the Spirit of the Word of God from Jesus' side and placed it in every person, making them identical in spirit to the Godhead. Jesus could now be awakened from His sleep of death and gaze at His new helpmeet, the Ekklesia.

The Apostle Paul describes his experience perfectly.

Galatians 2:20 KJV

(20) I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

This astonishing transformation also included receiving the faith of the Son of God for our personal use.

1 John 3:9 KJV

(9) Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

Our spirit, which has been born of God, cannot sin. However, much work remains for us to accomplish in transforming our soul into the mind and image of Christ. Unlike Adam, our spirit will remain untarnished because of the works of our soul. We are not left alone because our intimate union with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit completes the remaining work.

You know you have His name if you believe you are married to Jesus. Jesus is now the High Priest of your profession; He will go to work carrying out the will of the Father. The Holy Spirit is the worker established onsite to establish the culture of heaven in you. The three of them united with you will bring you to the full measure of Christ's stature, thus completing your salvation. However, knowledge kills, and you will receive nothing from God until you believe in your heart, confess with your mouth, and receive it in faith.

From the beginning of mankind, God has desired a kingdom ruled by His family, specifically the Sons of God.

John 15:16 KJV

(16) Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

Father, in Jesus's name, I ask you to make this new birth and marriage a reality in my life. I accept any changes necessary to bring this about. I joyfully accept this blood covenant union with Jesus, the Father, and the Holy Spirit. I understand I must frequently bring it to my remembrance and profess it to make it a living reality and my identity. I will do that. Amen

The wife of a king is the only person in heaven or earth that may sit on her husband's throne. She automatically inherits his full authority in his absence, such as an extended trip or his untimely death. In the case of Jesus dying and going to heaven, his wife received his throne and His full power and authority.
