Your Identity Lies in God's Kingdom

Being confident of and accepting your true identity in Christ is probably the most important thing you can receive in this lifetime. When we believe and receive our identity as children of God, we enter His Kingdom and submit to His government as His children and citizens. Many assume that receiving Jesus as our Lord and Savior makes us children of God. However, this is not strictly true.

Jesus has indeed completed all things needed for our maturity into the full measure of Christ, including being His child, but we must accept and confess it into our lives.

For example, Jesus died and saved our souls when He died on the cross, yet we had to hear this good news, believe it, receive it into our lives, and confess it with our mouths to activate it in us. We must use this same concept to become His child, son, Ambassador, King, Priest, bride, and wife. He is the way to these things and holding them out to us, but we must accept them. We must also continue to profess them before God to solidify them internally and make them our identity.

Jesus described the Kingdom of God as a great treasure, significant enough that anyone would sell everything they had to enter this place. That is an attitude I have not observed much in my lifetime. I see many people wanting to fill the Kingdom with others but do not seem to regard it with much value for their lives. I have heard very few say anything about having this great treasure within called the Kingdom of God.

God will not accept anyone who confesses more than one identity into His Kingdom. We must be single-minded in our allegiance to God. A double-minded person can not expect to receive anything from the Lord, especially great wealth. We must repent of all other identities without exception to live as His child. Dual identities could be why people confess but do not experience Kingdom living today.

Some widespread religious titles people have adopted and identified themselves with but were not given by God are Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Folk religions, and Sikhism.
